Drinking and Alcoholism in Alaska
In Alaska, children as young as 11 are being admitted to the emergency room intoxicated. A recent study shows that 20% of school children have drank alcohol before the age of 13. An emergency room doctor talks about having to call the parents of drunk children, and many times they can not come and get their child since they are drunk themselves.

Last year, a 14 year old boy froze to death after passing out drunk.

Some good news, however: A risk assessment study done in the schools has shown since 2007, the statistics for underage drinking have reduced. Hopefully, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
