Treatment Approach
Sunrise House provides a full continuum of care including medical detox, residential treatment, PHP, IOP, outpatient programs and aftercare planning. Our programs feature evidence-based addiction treatment proven to improve patient outcomes.
Upon arrival, patients will undergo medical and psychosocial assessments evaluating for addiction severity, general physical health, psychosocial history, and any ongoing medical conditions to determine the best level of care needed.
We offer a wide range of therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as other therapeutic approaches such as mindfulness, music therapy, 12-step groups, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
Specialized tracks are also available for LGBTQ+ patients featuring curriculum groups and lectures focused on the unique struggles that LGBTQ+ individuals may face when it comes to addiction.
At Sunrise House, detox patients reside in single rooms on the 2nd floor while residential patients stay on separate floors by gender. Women stay on the opposite side of the 2nd floor in shared rooms with Jack-and-Jill style bathrooms. Men reside in single rooms on the 3rd floor with shared dorm-style bathrooms.
Around the property, patients have access to an onsite fitness center, basketball court, shuffleboard, table tennis, TVs in lounge rooms and chef-prepared meals.
Meet the Staff
For over 20 years, Dr. Christodoulou has provided psychiatric emergency services and evaluations. Dr. Christodoulou is board certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and has certifications in both neurology and psychiatry.
Marissa Ott, MBA, BSN, RN, CARN, is the director of nursing at Sunrise House Treatment Center and brings more than 15 years of experience to her role. She oversees the facility's nursing staff and coordinates the medical and clinical teams providing patient care.
For Families
Research shows that when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment, successful, sustained recovery from addiction is more likely. On Tuesdays and for a half-day on Saturdays, we offer a family program during lunch. Family members can listen to a lecture and spend time with patients.
With patient consent, on Saturdays at 12:45 p.m. after the family lecture from 1-2 p.m., loved ones can visit patients from 2-3:15 p.m. Twice a month, we do a family educational day with a morning education session followed by lunch with the patient. We can also work with you to plan a visit if the patient wishes during their treatment.
