Treatment Approach

Hospital-Based Addiction Treatment:

With a long and storied history in New England, AdCare understands that treating alcoholism is more than just treating the addiction but focuses on care that addresses the needs of each individual as a whole. We continue to incorporate new, evidence-based treatment into our curriculum along with evidence-based approaches to recovery. In order to customize our patient’s treatment plans, we also offer genetic testing via AAC’s Addiction Labs of America

Treatment Modalities

Within our facilities, we offer a variety of levels of care ranging from private and group therapy utilizing behavioral therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). We also provide trauma-focused therapies, family support and counseling, 12-step groups, and specialized tracks for veterans, first responders, LGBTQ+, and those suffering from chronic mental illness.

Accommodations

AdCare has two inpatient locations in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and offer outpatient services in most of their facilities. Accommodations vary by location. At our Worcester location, patients can stay in one of 3 co-ed detox units before transitioning into one of our inpatient rehabilitation rooms. AdCare Rhode Island provides condo-like housing for patients on over 20 acres set of woods in New England.

For Families

Programs

AdCare offers a complimentary family program at all of its outpatient settings in order to involve family and friends in their loved one’s recovery. A Family Informational Program is offered monthly within each facility. During these sessions, family members can learn about the disease of addiction, what recovery looks like and how they can support their family member.

Visiting Your Loved One

AdCare has a strong open door visitation policy and encourages families and friends to be involved in their loved one’s recovery journey. Those residing at AdCare’s inpatient facilities can work with their treatment team to schedule a family therapy session or request visits with children. Prior to visiting, your loved one’s treatment team will provide you with all of the information needed to plan your visit or offer more information on family programming.
